  • Edina Helen Crowley (she/they)

    Edina was born and raised in Washington state, surrounded by the beauty of the pacific northwest. She has spent most of her life working with children, her parents ran an in-home daycare throughout her childhood, and she continues to volunteer with camps and after school programs. Most recently, Edina taught at the Academy of Children’s Theater, working with students from kindergarten to seniors in high school to develop creativity, confidence and a sense of play as they created their own works to perform. They find joy and satisfaction in walking alongside the discoveries children make everyday. Edina is an actor training at the Stella Adler Studio for Acting, and storytelling is her passion. They can often be found exploring the parks around the city with their partner and their two dogs.

  • Zulay Antonio (she/her)

    Meet Zulay, a born and raised New Yorker with a zest for life! As a two-time marathon runner and flower enthusiast, she seamlessly weaves outdoor adventures and mindful habits into her daily routine. Zulay, a Parsons School of Design alum, brings creativity and a rich background from the fashion and hospitality industries to our team. Passionate about the arts and connecting people, she's here to infuse our community with energy, creativity, and a touch of wellness and mindfulness magic!

  • Nicole Diaz (she/her)

    Nicole, a native of Queens, New York, is a devoted childhood educator with over a decade of experience in the field. Her passion lies in nurturing and teaching children from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Nicole believes in designing age-appropriate lessons and activities to foster children's physical, cognitive, language, and creative development.

    She firmly believes in the power of creativity, whether through dance, music, drama, or art, to ignite a child's curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Creativity, she believes, instills confidence and self-expression without judgment. Nicole, fluent in Spanish, incorporates the language into her lessons to enrich the learning experience.

    In her leisure time, Nicole enjoys a variety of interests, including Dungeons and Dragons, tending to her numerous plants, reading, attending live music events, and spending time with her dog, Lady, in the neighborhood parks.

  • Sonja Hansen (she/her)

    Sonja is a member of the Weekend Playspace Staff. Hailing from Sacramento, California, she is a recent graduate of Stanford University, having earned a B.S. in Earth Systems on the Land track with a Notation in Science Communication.

    Prior to joining, Sonja served as a communications and policy intern for The Climate Reality Project, Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice and BlueGreen Alliance. Sonja additionally volunteers with Superhero Clubhouse and Saint John’s Program for Real Change.

    Sonja has traveled to over 30 countries and studied abroad in Santiago, Chile; Amman, Jordan; and Istanbul, Turkey. Sonja is a writer, comedian, yoga practitioner and new surfer.

  • Veronica De Laurentiis (she/her)

    Veronica is 22 years old and originally from Nyack NY. She's lived in Brooklyn for three years and is going to Pratt University for jewelry design. She grew up with three other siblings, one of them being her twin, and has spent most of her life working with children at her mom's at-home daycare and other various nannying jobs.
